Low Expectations. There may not be many patterns because I have a life and a job and ADHD. In fact, if there are more than five by the end of 2024, I’ll be impressed with myself for (1) remembering this website exists, and (2) not quitting if I get bored.
Making Fabric. You’ll notice all projects are “fat quarter friendly.” Sometimes I just want to sew scraps together – it’s soothing, you know? During these times, I make sure I sew like-colored scraps into 18” x 22” rectangles so I can use them as fabric for future patterns. And who knows, maybe I'll use them to try out others' patterns if I'm feeling extra brave.
Forgiving Measurements. If you are a precision quilter, you’ll notice I often suggest cuts that leave 1/4 inch left over. These bits of unused fabric are just room for forgiveness. As a sloppy sewer, I want to be sure other casual quilters have the ability to square up edges throughout the process without running short. Also, be assured that the pictured in my patterns are not too scale — you didn’t do anything wrong, I’m just a sloppy person
